THE FRIENDLIEST EVENT OF THE YEAR

After the success of the last one, we are bringing our Big Nature Camp Out back for 2025 on the 2nd to the 5th of May (Bank holiday weekend). A fun packed weekend dedicated to all creatures great and small. A traditional wild camping escape in the heart of nature awaits. Campers of all ages can enjoy an unforgettable fun weekend under the stars.

Experience the thrill of a wild sleepover and a chance to switch off those phones and get back to nature.

 

Please note: This weekend will be run as a not-for-profit event with all money going into running the event, venue hire and the remaining to help with our chosen animal charities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What does booking the event include?

Arrival time to your pitch from 1pm 2nd May

Leave by 11am 5th May

Pitch Size 10m x 10m

Suitable for:

 

·       One Large Tent (Max of 6 people per pitch and one vehicle)

·       Two Small Tents (Max of 6 people per pitch and one vehicle)

·       One Motorhome, Campervan or Caravan (Max of 6 people per pitch and one vehicle)
        Please note we do NOT have hard-standing pitches or electric hook-up.

·       Open Fires or wood burning is not permitted. However, BBQ’s are allowed if raised off the ground.

·       Exclusive evening use of Masai Pizza house if you didn’t want to cook your own.

·       Exclusive evening use of the Oasis play area.

·       Dedicated on-site washroom and shower facilities.

·       Onsite breakfast den if you didn’t want to cook your own.

·       Access to our onsite Crikey kitchen with all equipment available. 

·       Pot washing facilities.

·       No pets allowed.

 

 

 

Entertainment

The weekend will feature live entertainment (in the Outback Arena), talks, walks and demonstrations for all ages to enjoy. Here are a few of things you have to look forward to.​ 

 

Mister Maker (Stage fun, Q&A and pictures)

Since its first appearance on CBeebies in 2007, the BAFTA-nominated Mister Maker has become a worldwide hit; transmitting in over 100 countries around the globe. Now also on Amazon Prime, the show continues to grow online too -  with the official Mister Maker YouTube Channel recently reaching 1.8 Million subscribers & over a Billion views!

But it is on a live stage that Mister Maker & The Shapes really make some noise! As well as extensive UK theatre tours, the show has travelled to Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia - achieving an incredible 20 sold out performances at the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Aaron (Talk, Q&A and pictures)

who is one of the stars from BBC's ONE ZOO THREE will be heading to see us all to talk about his amazing life with wildlife. Aaron who plays a key leadership role at Hertfordshire Zoo is as passionate as anyone about animals and nature.

Weekend will also feature:

Zoo keepers.

The Animal Guyz - with all their amazing animals making their way around the campsite each day.

Dino Rocks - Dinosaur talent show

Mike Richie - Instrumental vocalist

Just pink - Tribute act

Pirate Jenny - Bringing her fantastic pirate themed show to the stage.

Jake Evans - The story teller 

Sophie - Female vocalist

Zoollusionist - Magician

Science boffins - Science show

Alan Stitcher - Wood carving expert workshops

Jungle Jonny - UK crazy bug hunt expert

Circus workshops, magic shows, bug hunts, bug house building, nature trails, glitter tattoos, face painting, inflatable slides, giant outdoor games.

CAMPING - Friday, Saturday and Sunday for all camping and all activities £295 (per pitch for up to 6 persons)

Additional persons £40 (Maximum 10 persons per pitch)

Extra: Yorkshire wildlife park have offered a reduced rate on zoo tickets if you wanted to visit during your stay.

Weekend pass

£17.50 per adult/£15.50 per child (ages 3-15) under 3’s are free 

which would give unlimited entry over the 3 days.
